Ed Sammon has been a stand-up comedian for 10 years and is best known for playing the hilarious “Fr.Gabriel” on “RTE’s Bridget and Eamon” & co-presenting on RTE’s “Republic of Telly”. In this new show “Edwin Sammon vs Cancer”, he finds the funny in a very serious situation, examining how we react to serious illness and death.
Edwin has been solidly building new fans at every major festival in the country and comedy clubs across Ireland and the U.K. In 2013 he was part of the sold out nationwide “Lads Of Comedy” tour.
His unpredictable and immensely likeable style saw audiences award him the Tedfest Golden Toilet Duck in 2011 for best comedian and led to him supporting the likes of Jason Byrne, Fred Cooke and Ardal O’Hanlon on their nationwide tours.
Ed dropped into studio to chat to Trina Mara on “Something for the Weekend” – here’s Part One
Here’s Part Two of our interview where Ed tells us about his cancer diagnosis
