According to TicketData, resale prices across the tour have dropped by 11% since Monday.

The biggest drop has been recorded in Philadelphia, where Sheeran is due to perform on Saturday.

Resale ticket prices there have fallen by 24% since Monday, from $126 to $96, while TicketData says prices are down 25% over the past week.

The company says some decline in ticket prices is normal in the run-up to a concert.

TicketData says prices for Sheeran's previous 17 shows fell by an average of 22% during the two weeks before each concert.

However, a representative said the Philadelphia drop is “clearly pushing the edge of what you'd normally expect.”

The figures come after Macklemore was removed from the US leg of Sheeran's tour following his public support for Palestine.

Macklemore has since announced that he will donate his $1 million net earnings from the tour to six Palestinian organisations.

The rapper has also accused Robert Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium and the New England Patriots, of helping to have him removed from the tour.

Kraft has confirmed that he blocked Macklemore from performing at Gillette Stadium, saying his venue would not provide a platform for what he described as hate speech. Macklemore denies accusations of antisemitism.

Sheeran has said the decision to remove Macklemore was made by the tour promoter after venues said they would not allow the concerts to go ahead with him on the bill.

Several other opening acts have since withdrawn from the tour.

Sheeran's US tour resumes in Philadelphia on Saturday, September 19th.
