A car crashed through the wall of a supermarket in Cork on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at an Aldi supermarket in Ballycollig around 1pm.
According to CorkBeo, locals heard a loud bang as the car crashed. Three units from Cork City Fire Brigade and an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after the collision.
The supermarket was forced to close following structural damage to the building caused by the crash.
Cork City Fire Brigade Second Officer Victor Shine spoke to CorkBeo about the incident.
"It was a single-vehicle collision to the wall of the building, causing some structural damage. Three units responded from Cork City Fire Service, as well as building control from Cork City Council. It was an unfortunate incident but was dealt with accordingly by emergency services," Shine said.
No injuries have been reported and Gardaí are currently investigating the incident.
A Garda spokesperson added via CorkBeo: "Gardaí attended the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred near a business premises in Ballincollig, Co. Cork on Monday, September 21, at approximately 1:30 pm. A vehicle collided with a parked vehicle, which then collided with the wall of a business premises. No injuries have been reported at this time. Investigations are ongoing."
