Money bags in coffins, a dagger in a chest of chance, and more side-eye than you can count, it can only mean one thing: The Traitors Ireland finale has aired.
And what a finale Tuesday’s show was. In the end, it was Carla Geary, Pauric O’Meara, Anna Murphy and Diego Caixeta who were fighting for the crown.
Over the last few weeks all four players have put in one hell of a shift to keep their fellow game players on their toes, but there could only be one winner.
The last episode started with a bang, with all four finalists reflecting on their show journey before being clued in about the last mission.
Host Siobhan McSweeney explained to the gang that they’d have to work together to collect money bags from floating coffins, then light the sacred circle.
In fairness, the foursome did a great job and managed to secure all the available cash, which was then doubled, and brought the prize total to over 40k.
Then it was the last roundtable time where things got tense. After a voting stand off saw Anna and Carla receive equal votes, Siobhan threw in a plot twist.
Pauric and Diego had to pick chests, with whoever picked the one with a dagger inside getting two votes to break the tie. Diego had the luck on the day, sending Carla home after she played a blinder all season as an OG Traitor.
Now down to three finalists, it was Endgame time, and each player opted to banish once more, resulting in fellow Traitor Pauric being sent home. Which meant….
… Anna and Diego secured the win! Anna was the first to announce that she was a Faithful, with Diego making her sweat before he too admitted he was one as well.
Diego launched into a speech, thanking Siobhan for having him on the show and saying he’d be going on honeymoon with the winning money, making Anna think he was a Traitor, only to then say he was Faithful… and his husband was Denis.
Anna couldn’t believe the double revelations, with her facial expressions being golden and sure to become a meme.
Ah, what a season. G’wan, The Traitors Ireland… and roll on season three!
