Competition Terms & Conditions
1. General
1.1. These Terms & Conditions apply to all competitions promoted or run by Classic Hits Radio, whether on-air, online, or on Classichits.ie, via the Classic Hits Radio app, or on any Classic Hits Radio social media channels.
1.2. By entering any competition, participants are deemed to have read, understood, and irrevocably accepted these Terms & Conditions without qualification or equivocation.
1.3. Classic Hits Radio may amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on Classichits.ie and become effective immediately.
1.4. By entering any Classic Hits Radio competition, participants irrevocably agree that all decisions made by Classic Hits Radio (including Classic Rock Broadcasting Ltd. and authorised representatives) are final, conclusive, and binding, and waive any right to dispute, challenge, or appeal such decisions.
2. Eligibility
2.1. Competitions are open only to residents of the Republic of Ireland.
2.2. Entrants must be aged 18 or over unless a competition specifies a higher minimum age.
2.3. Certain prizes (including travel, holidays, accommodation, or prizes outside Ireland) may require winners and companions to be aged 21 or over, hold valid passports/visas, insurance, or meet other legal requirements.
2.4. Employees of Classic Hits Radio, Classic Rock Broadcasting Ltd., sponsors, partners, promotional agencies, and their immediate families or households are not eligible.
2.5. Entrants who have won a prize valued at €2,000 or more within the previous 12 months are not eligible to win any Classic Hits Radio competition.
2.6. Classic Hits Radio may request proof of identity, age, residence, licence, passport/visa, or other eligibility evidence.
3. Prize provision & availability
3.1. Prizes Supplied by Classic Hits Radio
3.2. Where Classic Hits Radio provides a prize directly, every reasonable effort will be made to supply it as described.
3.3. If unavailable, Classic Hits Radio may substitute with a prize of equal or greater value.
3.4. No cash alternative will be offered unless stated.
4. Prizes Supplied by Third-Party Partners
4.1. Many prizes are supplied by external third-party partners.
4.2. Prize delivery may take up to 30 days or longer depending on the supplier.
4.3. Classic Hits Radio accepts no responsibility for prize availability, delivery, fulfilment, timing, quality, or any alterations by third parties.
4.4. By entering, participants acknowledge that delays or changes may occur and agree that Classic Hits Radio is not liable.
4.5. If a third-party prize becomes unavailable, Classic Hits Radio will attempt to source an alternative, but this is at the discretion of the supplier.
4.6. Classic Hits Radio does not guarantee dispatch or delivery timelines.
5. Prize delivery, collection & forfeiture
5.1. Winners must collect prizes from Classic Hits Radio’s premises unless otherwise stated.
5.2. Prizes sent by post or courier are sent entirely at the winner’s risk; Classic Hits Radio is not responsible for loss, delay, or damage.
5.3. Winners must claim/collect prizes within 30 days or they may be forfeited.
5.4. Identification may be required on collection.
6. Winner selection & notification
6.1. Winners are selected according to competition-specific rules.
6.2. Winners may be contacted via phone, email, SMS, app notification, or social media message.
6.3. If Classic Hits Radio cannot contact a winner within a reasonable period, the prize may be withdrawn and awarded to another entrant.
7. Phone-in / live on-air competitions
7.1. Entrants consent to their calls being recorded, broadcast live, repeated, or used for promotional purposes.
7.2. Classic Hits Radio is not responsible for call drops, signal problems, or technical issues.
7.3. If a call drops or fails, Classic Hits Radio may move to another entrant.
7.4. Only the first answer/guess given to the producer/screener will be accepted.
7.5. Presenter/producer discretion applies to caller selection and the number of callers taken to air.
7.6. Entrants must have the bill-payer’s permission before incurring any charges.
8. Substitutions, changes & cancellations
8.1. Classic Hits Radio may alter, cancel, suspend, or withdraw any competition or prize due to events outside its control.
8.2. Winners will be notified of changes or delays where practicable.
8.3. No compensation or alternative will be provided unless stated.
9. Responsibility & liability
9.1. Classic Hits Radio makes no warranties regarding any prize’s quality, safety, or fitness for purpose.
9.2. Classic Hits Radio is not responsible for:
- delays in delivery;
- third-party failures;
- event cancellations;
- technical faults;
- lost, delayed, or damaged prizes.
9.3. Winners agree that Classic Hits Radio and its partners are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, or expense from participation or prize use.
9.4. Winners participate at their own risk.
10. Publicity & privacy
10.1. Winners grant Classic Hits Radio permission to use their name, likeness, voice, and general location for promotional purposes.
10.2. Personal data is processed in accordance with Classic Hits Radio’s Privacy Policy.
11. Fair play & entry rules
11.1. Unless otherwise stated, only one entry per person per competition is permitted.
11.2. Classic Hits Radio may disqualify entrants who submit multiple entries, use automation, or act fraudulently.
11.3. Classic Hits Radio may invalidate an entry or withdraw a prize—even after award—if an entrant is found ineligible. The winner may be required to return the prize or reimburse its value.
11.4. All entries become the property of Classic Hits Radio.
12. Competition-specific terms
12.1. Some competitions operated by this include additional rules published separately on our website.
12.2. Where there is a conflict, competition-specific rules prevail.
13. Decisions & disputes
13.1. All decisions made by Classic Hits Radio are final and binding.
13.2. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
13.3. By entering, participants irrevocably waive any right to dispute, challenge, or appeal decisions.
13.4. Classic Hits Radio may withhold or withdraw any prize if an entrant breaches rules or gains unfair advantage.
14. Governing law
14.1. These Terms & Conditions are governed by Irish law.
14.2. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Irish courts.
