The search for a missing Dublin man has sadly ended with the discovery of his body at Baldoyle racecourse.

Sean Donnelly had disappeared from the Baldoyle area earlier this week, with concerned family members and friends launching a campaign on social media to find him.

Donnelly's body was discovered at the racecourse shortly after noon on Wednesday, June 30th. The body was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. A post-mortem will be performed, with the results determining the direction of the ensuing Gardaí investigation.

Donnelly was described as a "gentleman and one of the best around" by a friend.

Tributes have been paid to Donnelly on social media, with one friend writing "Devastating news today hearing about our friend Sean Donnelly. You were one of a kind, thinking of your girlfriend and your mother, sisters and brothers. Help them get through this pal."

Another wrote "May you get the softest cloud in heaven, we will always remember and love you."

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help Donnelly's family with funeral costs. Campaign organiser Lauren Walsh wrote "We want to give Sean Donnelly the send off he deserves, to honour his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of Sean’s funeral and it would be greatly appreciated if we could pull together and help ease the burden on his family at this extremely sad time."
