Ed Sheeran Wows Croke Park With Stunning Show

Ed Sheeran kicked of his mega live tour by wowing his fans at Croke Park over the weekend. Fans called the singer's performance on Saturday "incredible" and an "unforgettable concert experience".

Taking to Instagram, the singer/songwriter told his fans that this performance was "probably one of my favourite shows I've every played".

He also added a note to those who attended on Saturday night, "Thank you so much Dublin". 

Sheeran had also told his audience that he "forgot how mental an Irish crowd could be". "Nothing beats Saturday night in Croker does it?", the singer added. 

Along with Croke Park, Sheeran will perform live in Cork, Belfast and Limerick over the coming weeks. These shows are being played "in the round" on a stage specifically designed to have no blind spots for the audience. 

A full 360 view has been offered by the rotating stage, while a band as been added to support Sheeran. The pyrotechnics also created a more dramatic effect.

The show also saw Sheeran sing his track Galway Girl, which as you could imagine went down a treat with the crowd.

Fans were also quick to heap the praise on Sheeran, including sports commentator Marty Morrissey. 

"The show has spectacular effects but ultimately it's a guy on his own with a guitar", he tweeted. "What a great talent. Fair play to him, Love his songs & love his Show tonight. Great night in Croke Park".
