Tiger Woods has been involved in a high-speed car crash in Los Angeles, where his car rolled over multiple times.

He was on the way to play golf when the car he was driving flipped in L.A., landing upside down in nearby shrubs.  Tiger has been left with serious leg injuries in both legs but could've been killed.  The seatbelt he was wearing and the airbag saved his life.

Emergency services arrived at the scene within 6 minutes and used an axe and pry bar to get him out of the vehicle.  The road where he crashed is a hot-spot for accidents.

The golfer has undergone emergency surgery on his shattered ankle and two leg fractures.

A spokesperson has said he is "conscious and recovering after multiple fractures to his upper and lower fibula and tibia which required stabilization with a rod.  His ankle also needed screws and pins".

Although Tiger usually lives in Florida, he was in L.A. to host the PGA Genesis Invitational over the weekend.  He had been loaned the car by Genesis.
