Today is the final day of operation for the Clifden COVID-19 vaccination centre. It will be serving those with appointments only.

All residents of Connemara who have received their first dose at the Clifden clinic are now being advised that a second jab will be administered at the main vaccination centre at Ballybrit.

Clifden Community School began operating as a COVID-19 vaccination centre on July 6th. Since then it has administered 820 first and second doses.

130 of the first doses were administered while the clinic was operating as a walk-in centre over the Bank Holiday weekend. Another 50 first doses were administered during the August 7th walk-in clinic.

Anyone now awaiting vaccinations at Clifden will be contacted with new appointments at the Ballybrit vaccination centre.

The latest figures issued on August 16th show that a total of 6,409,339 vaccine doses have been administered in the Republic of Ireland. Of those, 3,527,324 are first doses while 2,882,015 are second doses.
