An Austrailian TV host has issued an apology to Adele after he admitted that he had never listened to Adele's "30" album during an interview with the singer.

During an interview for Channel 7, Matt Doran made the revelation to Adele that he had not heard the album, later admitting that he missed an email sent to him which included a preview copy of the record.

This led to Sony Music, Adele's record label withholding the footage. This was part of a rights package, costing Channel 7 A$1 million (£500,000) according to Austrailian media.

"an oversight but not a deliberate snub"

Since then, Doran has issued an apology, where he admitted to missing the email.

“It was an oversight but not a deliberate snub", he said. “This is the most important email I have ever missed".

Having been absent from duties on TV, Doran has denied rumours that he was suspended by Channel 7.
