Aslan have shown their appreciation to their fans for their support, after they were forced to cancel tonight's show at Dublin's 3Arena after frontman Christy Dignam suffered a health setback.

Despite this, the band have assured fans that they are working towards arranging a new date for their 40th anniversary gig. They added that it will be "bigger and better". They have also assured fans that any tickets purchased for Saturday's gig will remain valid.

Christy Dignam has been recieving treatment for Amyloidosis, having been diagnosed with the disease since 2013.

Aslan have also insisted that a video showing Dignam singing from his hospital bed is in fact old footage of the singer. They also added that Christy "can't wait till he's back doing what he loves best".

This show at Dublin's 3Arena was to celebrate 40 years since Aslan were formed back in 1982.
