Irish actor Barry Keoghan has joined the cast for the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie.

The Saltburn and The Banshees Of Inisherin star will feature in a cast which will see Oscar winner Cillian Murphy reprise his role as gangster Thomas Shelby on the popular hit series.

The spinoff movie will also see creators Steven Knight and Tom Harper return behind the camera. The pair had previously created the original series, which ran from 2013 to 2022.

Back in June, it was announced that a Peaky Blinders film had been given the go-ahead, and would go into production later that year. This was confirmed by BBC Films and Netflix, with details regarding casting kept under wraps for the time being.

"It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me . . . It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans", Cillian Murphy on reprising his role as Thomas Shelby.
