As she continued to give her evidence in court, Amber Heard shared further deatils of the "disgusting" physical and verbal abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of her ex husband Johnny Depp during their timultous marriage.

Johnny Depp is suing Ms Heard over an article which was publsihed in the Washington Post in 2018, which claimed that he sexually and physically abuse his former spouse during their marriage. The couple married in 2015, before divorcing two years later in 2017.

While the article was written by Ms Heard, it did not mention Depp by name.

Ms Heard has already told the jury of how her ex husband allegedly "slapped her" across the face several times after she jokingly mocked the writing of one of his tattoos.

"howled like an animal"

Ms Heard has since told the court that Mr Depp "hated" the idea of his ex wife having a professional relationship with actor James Franco.

Audio clips from an incident which took place in 2014 were played to the court where, Ms Heard also claimed that Johnny Depp once kicked her in the back on an airplane, adding that he was so intoxicated that he "howled like an animal". The actress alleged that she was kicked and had things thrown at her by Depp on the plane.

She claimed that the moment she saw Depp getting onto the plane, she just "knew every cell of my body that something was wrong".

Heard continued, "He reeks of weed and alcohol, and his breath smelled so bad. I could anticipate there was a no-win situation here".

"He was saying really disgusting things about my body … and then he started straight up insulting me. And this is happening in front of everyone".

Depite moving seats several times, Ms Heard stated that Mr Depp threw "ice cubes and utensils" at her. She also claimed that Depp then sat in front of her, before slapping her face.

"I walk away from him, my back is turned and I feel this boot in my back. He just kicked me in the back," Heard continued. "I fell to the floor and it felt like I was looking at the floor of the plane for a long time".

"No-one said anything, no-one did anything, you could hear a pin drop on that plane, you could feel the tension".

"Cavity search"

According to Amber Heard, Johnny Depp's drug and alcohol issues meant that she was "constantly catering" to his mood swings and problems, as he took different medications to help him to detox.

She also claimed that another of his alleged violent stunts, saw him perform a "cavity search" on her.

This trial has been watched by hundreds of fans who have queued outside the courthouse, with some even camping overnight. A limited capacity of journalists have trying to get into the courtroom.

Johnny Depp who has not made eye contact with Ms Heard during her testimony, has denied being violent towards his ex wife, insisting that she was the abuser.

The trial continues.
