Hugh Jackman has heaped the praise on the "next level" dedication of frontline health workers around the world, after his 10 day Covid isolation ended recently. The actor had tested positive for the virus just before the new year, having displayed "mild symptoms".

The Wolverine actor was full of praise for frontline workers, describing the impact of the pandemic on their physical and mental well being as "unimaginable".

Taking to Instagram, Jackman documented his "first morning out in 10 days", saying that it felt "amazing but cold".

Jackman also added that he was excited and thrilled to return to the theatre to work. The Greatest Showman star is currently performing a Broadway revival of The Music Man. He had to cancel several shows following his positive Covid test.

Calling it "so good" to return to work, Jackman posted a separate message on Instagram where he apologised to fans over the cancelled shows.

"To all the shows on Broadway, I’m thinking of you all", Jackman said. "Everyone stay safe, be kind to each other and look forward to seeing you soon".
