The Hollywood actor John C.Reilly has been announced as the International Guest of Honour at this year's St.Patrick's Festival in Dublin.

The actor, who is best known for the movies "Gangs of New York", "Wreck it Ralph" and "Stepbrothers", says he is ready for a good time.  John grew up in an Irish-Lithuanian household in Southwest Chicago in a predominantly Irish neighbourhood.  His paternal great grandfather emigrated in the early 1900's from Ireland to start a new life in the United States.

John will take part in the St.Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin on March 17th alongside Grand Marshal's Paralymic Gold Medal swimmer Ellen Keane and Olympic gold medal boxer Kellie Harrington.

The parade starts at 12pm, running from Parnell Square to Cuffe St/Kevin Street junction for 2 hours and will be broadcast on RTE One.
