Little Britain has returned for the BBC iPlayer containing edits to “better reflect the cultural landscape”.

With characters Emily Howard, Vicky Pollard, and Lou and Andy, the show will contain a number of edits, including the removal of black characters who were portrayed by Matt Lucas and David Walliams like Desiree DeVere, Pastor Jesse King and "portly Thai bride" Ting Tong.

Matt Lucas' and David Walliams' show had been removed from the BBC iPlayer in 2020 amid criticism from a number of its recurring characters especially the use of blackface following the Black Lives Matter protests.

Both Lucas and Walliams released this statement in 2020, “David and I have both spoken publicly in recent years of our regret that we played characters of other races. Once again we want to make it clear that it was wrong; we are very sorry".

The show was also removed from BritBox and Netflix.

“Little Britain has been made available to fans on BBC iPlayer following edits made to the series by Matt and David that better reflect the changes in the cultural landscape over the last 20 years since the show was first made", BBC said in a recent statement.
