When a bride is taking wedding photographs with her bridesmaids, the last thing you would expect is to be is photobombed by a Hollywood superstar.

Well, to the lucky bridesmaids who were taking snaps outside the Fairmont Hotel in Pittsburgh US last weekend, Oscar winning actor Tom Hanks showed up along with his wife Rita Wilson, joining the bride Grace Gwaltney, before taking photos with her.

Describing this encounter as "crazy", Gwaltney said that she "immediatley froze" when she saw Hanks.

“He was talking in my ear, and I was thinking of Toy Story", she said.

“When it first happened we were all confused and it didn’t click for a second", the photographer Rachel Rowland said. "Most of us stared quietly for a second. Then we all erupted in screams”.

She continued, “He found me and asked me to take a photo with the bride and then yelled for all of the bridesmaids to get off the limo for the photo. He was exactly as you would assume him to be, joyful, funny, loud and kind".

Hanks had been in Pittsburgh shooting for his film A Man Called Ove, a movie adaption of a novel written by Fredrik Backman.

Tom Hanks will also play Elvis Presley's manager Col Tom Parker in the biographical film Elvis, directed by Baz Luhrmann, a film which will arrive on 24 June 2022.

This is alsno not the first time that the actor has gatecrashed a wedding. Back in 2016, Hanks shared a photo of himself and newly weds at Central Park. He was also photographed with two brides on their wedding day at Santa Monica.
