24 GP practices got over 900,000 euro each for treating medical-card patients last year with 11 practices got over 1 million euro. In total, 854 million euro was paid to over 3,000 GP practices under the medical card scheme last year, including practice support payments. Should there be a €10 charge for medical card users who are not chronically ill or pensioners that wish to use GP service?
