Two Men Die in Separate Road Crashes

Two separate crashes in Kildare and Tipperary have left two men dead.

On Monday evening a man in his 70s was killed when his motorcycle crashed in Kildare. The accident happened at approximately 6pm in the Derrycrib area of Donadea. No other vehicles were involved.

The man's body was taken to Naas General Hospital. A post mortem is set to be carried out.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are investigating the scene, which has been closed off with diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward. They are particularly interested in dash-cam footage from motorists who were travelling between Timahoe and Donadea between 5.30pm and 6.15pm yesterday evening.

Also yesterday evening, a man in his 40s died in a crash at Mainstown, Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary.

This was also a single-vehicle collision. The man, who was the driver of the vehicle involved, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital for post mortem.

Diversions are in place as forensic examinations are carried out on the road at Mainstown, from Faugheen towards Carrick-on-Suir.
