Toy Story actor Tim Allen has been left out of the upcoming Buzz Lightyear film and fans think he has been ‘cancelled’ over his support of Trump.

Toy Story actor and American funny man, Tim Allen has been cast “to infinity and beyond” after being left out of the new Buzz Lightyear film. Captain America actor, Chris Evans (40) is set to voice the space ranger in the upcoming Lightyear origin-story film, over the legendary comedian (68).

Allen, along with Woody voice actor, Tom Hanks (65), has been a part of the franchise for almost three decades. However, following his exemption from the new film, some members of the public think he was rejected over his support for former US President, Donald Trump.

Describing Trump’s politics as “kind of an anarchist”, Republican voter Allen previously revealed how he “liked that Donald Trump p***** people off”.

Author Brigitte Gabriel, 57, tweeted: “Tim Allen is the only person capable of being Buzz Lightyear. Did Disney cancel him for being a Republican?” With another adding, “Hollywood cancel culture strikes again. Tim Allen cancelled for being Conservative.

Despite Allen’s sitcom Last Man Standing being one of the most popular shows at the time, it was taken off air in 2017. Fans feel that US network, ABC axed it with Allen refusing to stop voicing his political views. However, Allen claims to have never been in support of Trump as the comedian added, “I literally don’t preach anything”.

Allen made his first appearance of the franchise in 1995, voicing the toy who believed he was an actual space ranger. He has reprised the role in several sequel films and animated shorts, voicing Buzz as recently as 2019 in Toy Story 4.

Fans have theorised that Allan’s snub could have something to do with the film being based on the story of Buzz Lightyear the man, who the toy is later based on. Meanwhile, Chris Evans is overjoyed with the decision to hire him for the role, calling it “a dream come true” to voice the character.

The upcoming origin story of everybody’s favourite space ranger is set to be released in June next year.
