Crazy Frog Marks Return With RUN-DMC Mashup "Tricky"

Crazy Frog has announced its return with a new track called "Tricky". This is a mashup of Run-DMC's "It's Tricky".

This mashup is an EDM remix of the RUN-DMC classic. It also includes an infectious and irritating repitition of "Ding Dong", something which the amphibian is famous for. The Crazy Frog of course dominated the music sphere during the noughties. 

This track also includes a music video showing Crazy Frog breaking into a rocket launch site. In the video, Crazy Frog cons robot guards into joining the launch with some clever choreography. You really have to see it to believe it. 

The video which has been described as a take on the “Bezos-Musk ego trip”, can be viewed below. It was directed by Andreas Wicklund and Sigfrid Soderberg. 

The Crazy Frog burst onto the scene after being marketed by ringtone compnay Jamba! back in 2005. It also grabbed headlines when it beat Coldplay to number one in the UK. 

Due to the decline in ringtones, Crazy Frog has reworked itself to appeal to TikTok users. 

“When we started Crazy Frog, there was no TikTok, it didn’t exist", said the president of A&R at Sony Music Wolfgang Boss. “But right now TikTok is super important. It’s basically the number one platform for people to share new music and funny things connected with music".
