Boy George has claimed that Matt Hancock joined 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Outta Here!' to enhance his own image and to "be a rock star".

The former UK Health secretary finished in third place on this year's edition of the show, finishing behind Hollyoaks star Owen Warner and subsequent winner and former English footballer Jill Scott.

During his time in the camp, Hancock faced a host of Bushtucker trials, as well as a grilling from several campmates over his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic whilst in parliament, including Boy George.

When he joined, Hancock insisted that his constintuents were his "first priority", and that the reality show would an "honest and unfiltered" way to communicate with viewers of the show.

However speaking in a recent interview, Boy George has dismissed these claims, insisting that Hancock joined the show for his own end.

"Don't believe anything he says about why he did it", the Culture Club star stated. "He did it because he wants to kick up his heels and have a good time".

"We all know that politicians are real people. We also know everyone wants to be a rock star, everybody. Especially politicians".

"So, it's impossible to believe some people's reasons for doing something", Boy George added. "Ultimately, they are doing it for a bigger profile, a bit more attention, hopefully showing people a different side".
