Tributes have been paid to the late DJ Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, who died aged 40.

Stephen was known for DJing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, a role he began in 2024 until the show finished up. He was also made an executive producer by Ellen DeGeneres in 2020.

Paying homage to him, Ellen DeGeneres said that she was "heartbroken" when she was informed of Boss' death.

"I’m heartbroken", she wrote. "tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children - Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia".

Other household names to pay tribute to 'tWitch' also include Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Michelle Obama, Finneas, and Kris Jenner.

"Twitch was such a light and a beautiful soul. Shocked and deeply saddened", Lopez wrote. "My heart breaks for @sir_twitch_alot, his wife and children. Sending you love and strength".

In his own tribute, singer Justin Timberlake said that  "you just never know what someone is really going through".

"It’s heartbreaking to hear that someone who brought so much joy to a room, was hurting so much behind closed doors," the former nSync star added.  "I’ve known Twitch for over 20 years through the dance community – he always lit everything up. You just never know what someone is really going through".

He added: "Take care of yourselves. LOVE that human in the mirror. Check on your people.

"Sending light to his beautiful family in this dark, confusing time. You will be missed, Sir. Rest Easy."

Former First Lady Michelle Obama said that she was also "heartbroken" over 'tWitch's' death.

Reports have indicated that Stephen 'tWitch' Boss died from suicide. He is survived by his wife Alison, and his three children Weslie, Maddix and Zaia.
