Nicola Coughlan Among Glamour Women Of The Year Winners

Nicola Coughlan was among the winners at this year's Glamour Women Of The Year Awards.

Coughlan who is renowned for playing Clare Devlin in Channel Four sitcom Derry Girls, as well as starring as Penelope Featherington in Netflix hit Bridgerton, was among several women honoured at an event which celebrates those that have "broken down barriers, incited change and campaigned for justice" at London's Outernet Venue. 

A series of awards were handed out to stars of music, film, television, as well as activism at this event, which was hosted by Katherine Ryan.

Nicola Coughlan landed the top prize for televison actor. 

Other stars to be awarded also include singer Anne-Marie who won musician of the year, Broadway star Erivo who won the accolate for gamechanger performer. 

Transgender activist Munroe Bergdorf landed the award for Beauty gamechanger, while singer Rita Ora won the entertainment award. The gong for theatre actor went to Samira Wiley, while presenter for the viral Chicken Shop Date series went to Amelia Dimoldenberg landed the creator award. 

Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall was also named screen icon at the event. 

All winners were handed a personalised 3D printed trophy from HP. 

Awards for Women of the Year will take place worldwide throughout this month. Special digital covers which were photographed on the night will also commemorate these awards. Previous winners include Nicole Kidman, Victoria Beckham and Naomi Campbell.

Speaking on these awards, European editorial director for Glamour Deborah Joseph had this to say.

"Shining a spotlight on women who are game-changing in their field and challenging the status quo, our Glamour Women Of The Year event is back, celebrating feminism in all forms and corners of the globe", she explained. 

"Celebrating women who make incredible differences is one of the best parts of leading Glamour in Europe, so I'm excited for Women Of The Year to put this centre stage".
