Fans have been left cringing after seeing Jennifer Aniston's "awkward" interview on the BBC One Show.

The actor was appearing on the show via video call with Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon. However, viewers have been left confused at the awkwardness portrayed by Aniston during the interview.

The Friends star did not seem overly keen on the questions posed to her by presenters Zoe Ball and Jermaine Jenas.

"The slow burn that it is"

The pair were asked about going behind the scenes of a real morning TV show to find inspiration for their hit series "The Morning Show".

Looking a little distracted, Aniston replied, "I learned the slow burn that it is".

"It's a very vampire state of life and mind that you guys live in", she added. "Everybody comes alive in the middle of the night and it's a slow-moving train".

"I got there at five in the morning and the hallways were quiet and people are just slowly waking up and then all of a sudden, the train starts moving and it gets crazier and crazier".

At this point, Jermaine asked Witherspoon, "Jennifer pretty much sold it to be that she is not a morning person, so I am going to ask you, are you a morning person?".

“Did I sell that to you?”, Jennifer responded.

“A little bit", Jermaine said.

“Did I get a good deal?”, she retorted.

"Cringe"

Fans were very quick to pick up on this general sense of awkwardness in this interview, with many sharing their views online.

"Jermaine dying on his a**e trying to interview Jennifer Aniston #theoneshow", one wrote.

Another added,“Jennifer Anniston’s ‘tude in this interview is cringe. She keeps on looking to the side awkward  #theoneshow".

A third viewer also added, “Did anyone else catch Jennifer Anniston’s negative reaction to the male presenter regarding the morning person bit? Awkward #theoneshow".
