Alan Carr's ex-husband has been jailed for 14 weeks after crashing into a police car while drink driving.

Paul Drayton was struggling following his marriage split from the TV star after 13 years together.  He cried in court as he pleaded guilty to drink driving and was banned from driving for 3 years.  His car  was swerving all over the road as the police followed him last October.  When they signalled for him to pull over, he reversed into them.  When breathalyzed, he was 4 times over the legal limit.

District Judge Amanda Kelly acknowledged his alcohol issues and his marriage breakdown but pointed out how he could've killed someone - he could've killed or seriously injured someone's "child, partner or friend".

Paul who said he was petrified of going to jail was sentenced to 14 weeks behind bars and received a 3 year driving ban.
