Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses After Serious Road Traffic Collision in Bantry

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Donemark, near Bantry, Co. Cork, in the early hours of this morning, Saturday, 14th June 2025.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 3:00am. A male pedestrian, believed to be in his late 30s, sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, did not require medical attention. No other injuries were reported.

The road was temporarily closed to allow for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since reopened.

Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with road users who may have dash-cam or other camera footage from the area between 2:30am and 3:00am.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
