The jury at the trial of Richard Satchwell has heard that Gardaí found shards of glass on Tina Satchwell’s body after it was discovered under the stairwell of her home in Youghal.
58-year-old Richard Satchwell of Grattan Street, Youghal, county Cork has pleaded NOT guilty to the murder of his wife Tina at the same address in March 2017.
Detective Karen McCarthy from the Garda Technical Bureau said that small shards of glass were taken from head and arms of the body of Tina Satchwell.
The detective said she took possession of exhibits, including a wallet with a playboy logo which contained several store loyalty cards and identification.
The jury saw photographs of the wallet, a dressing gown taken from her body and they heard that a dressing gown belt, which was wrapped around the body, was also taken into evidence.
Prosecution barrister Gerardine Small said the jury will see photos of the dressing gown belt in due course.
The trial continues.
