A man in his 20s has been seriously injured following a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car on the N71 near Clonakilty on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly after 4:30pm at Grillagh, just north of Clonakilty. Emergency services rushed to the scene, where the motorcyclist received treatment before being taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital. His condition has not yet been disclosed.
The driver of the car, a man in his 70s, was also taken to hospital for assessment.
The N71 remains closed in both directions as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions are currently in place.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant camera footage—including dash-cam recordings—taken in the area around the time of the crash to come forward.
