Gardaí have concluded a search operation at a private residence in Clondalkin as part of their ongoing investigation into the 1993 disappearance and murder of Annie McCarrick. Officers confirmed on Monday afternoon that the search had ended and that they will remain on-site temporarily to facilitate the return of the property to its current residents.
For operational reasons, specific details of the search have not been disclosed. Gardaí have, however, updated McCarrick’s family on the latest developments.
Investigators have reiterated that the current occupants of the Clondalkin residence are not in any way connected to Annie McCarrick or her disappearance.
The case remains under the direction of a Senior Investigating Officer, led by the Serious Crime Unit of the DMR South Central Division at Irishtown Garda Station. They are working in conjunction with the Serious Crime Review Team and the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Gardaí are appealing once again to the public for information, particularly from anyone who may have come forward in the past but felt unable to share all they knew at the time.
“With the passage of time, circumstances and attitudes may have changed,” a Garda spokesperson said. “We urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact us.”
Information can be shared directly with the investigation team at Irishtown Garda Station by calling 01 666 9600, or anonymously through the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
