Céline Dion has officially released her long-awaited new single, marking her first original music in several years.
The French-language track, titled 'Dansons' translates to 'Let's Dance' in English. It dropped on Friday (April 17), just hours after anticipation peaked among fans awaiting her musical comeback.
The release signals a major moment in Dion’s return to the spotlight following a prolonged period away from recording and touring.
The song also reunites Dion with legendary songwriter and producer Jean-Jacques Goldman, who was behind some of her most iconic work.

Their previous collaborations include the 1995 album D’eux, which remains the best-selling French-language album of all time, as well as the 2016 track Encore un soir.
“Dansons” — which translates to “Let’s Dance” — leans into themes of resilience and uncertainty, reflecting a world still grappling with the aftershocks of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement ahead of the release, Goldman described the song as a meditation on enduring through difficult times, saying: “We’re still dancing above the abyss.”
The release comes amid growing momentum around Dion’s wider comeback.

The singer recently confirmed she will headline a major residency at Paris La Défense Arena later this year, marking her first sustained run of live performances since stepping back from the stage due to health issues.
The shows will be her first since a widely praised appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, where she performed Hymne à l’amour — a moment that signalled her gradual return to public life.
Dion’s touring plans were previously disrupted after her Courage World Tour was cut short and ultimately cancelled due to her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome, a rare condition she later opened up about in her 2024 documentary I Am: Céline Dion.
Two weeks ago, the global superstar revealed she will headline a five-week limited engagement titled CELINE DION PARIS 2026 at the renowned Paris La Défense Arena between September and October 2026.
Due to high demand, the iconic singer added 6 shows a week after announcing the initial 10 dates.
The return of Céline Dion to the stage has triggered one of the most extraordinary ticket rushes in recent memory, with a staggering 9 million fans signing up for presale access to her upcoming shows at Paris La Défense Arena.
Unfortunately, only 300,000 fans were selected for presale access — leaving the vast majority empty-handed and now scrambling for the general sale, which took place on April 10.
