Cruz Beckham is hoping to put a "smile on people's faces" with his music.

The singer, whose parents are former footballer David Beckham and Spice Girl bandmember Victoria Beckham, made these comments in a recent interview ahead of his band's first ever tour.

Cruz's band, The Breakers, are set to embark on a number of shows across the UK, as well as shows in Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam, as part of The For You Love tour, as he follows in his mother's musical footsteps.

In recent months, Beckham has been working closely with The Kooks' Luke Pritchard, who had been helping him with his songwriting.

Previously, Pritchard said this of Cruz Beckham: “He has really good taste in music. We chat about early Bee Gees – there aren’t many people I can do that with. We started writing songs together and we’ve become mates. I’d just love to help him navigate [a career in music]".

"Honestly, just to keep making music and keep trying to put a smile on people’s faces", Beckham said in a recent interview with Chris Evans. Before adding that: "People need it right now".

This comes as The Breakers released their single, For Your Love, having already released their debut single, Optics back in October, as well as the song, Lick The Toad. The music video for For Your Love, which you can check out below, features Beckham's bandmates, as well as his grandfather, Victoria's father, Tony Adams.

Paying tribute to his grandfather, Cruz Beckham said: "He’s an amazing, amazing human".

"He was in a band when he was younger and we just relate so much on music", he continued. "I just love talking to him about music and playing songs. Once I found out that he was part of a band, I got a lot more into it and then found out about The Beatles because of him".

Beckham also revealed that his first gig saw him watch his mother perform as part of the Spice Girls.

The 20 year old's band, The Breakers, consists of bandmembers, Dan Ewins, Telmo Seixas and Dario Scotti.
