Dolly Parton is to get an new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later this week, after the original one was vandalised.
This comes after the original star was on the receiving end of vandalism, leaving the singer's name badly defaced, with the damage being shown on social media. The star had been dedicated to the singer in 1984.
Prior to this, fans had laid flowers and candles on the star in Hollywood, which paid homage to her decades long career. Tributes were paid to Parton following her death last week at the age of 80.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Ana Martinez had said that the tribute items of the star had been cleared ahead of the already scheduled work to repair the cracks to the originally vandalised star.
Elsewhere, the Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains the thousand of stars along Hollywood Boulevard, have said that the star would be ready in the coming days.
"The Hollywood Historic Trust and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce are proud to honor the legacy of Dolly Parton with a replacement of her star," they said on Instagram. "The new star will be available for viewing this Friday".

News of this comes after it had already been confirmed that Dolly Parton's life and career would be honoured by a two day festival in Nashville and London across the next year.
The festival, Dollyfest was originally fixed for January 2026, with Parton set to perform at the event.
However, following her death, it was announced that the festival would honour her legacy instead. More on this here.
