Don Henley has said that 2026 will "probably" be the final year for the Eagles.
The Eagles were founded in 1971 after Don Henley and Glen Frey had played together in Linda Rondstadt's backing band. They remained together until 1980, having reformed several times since. Hailed as one of the most successful bands of all time, Eagles have sold over 200 million albums worldwide.
Henley made these comments as the band continue to play their huge run of shows at Las Vegas' Sphere, as part of their mammoth 'The Long Goodbye' tour. Their residency is due to finish up in March. In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, drummer Don Henley was asked about what the future holds for the band, to which he replied: “You know, I think this year will probably be it".
“And I’ve said things like that before, but I feel like we’re getting toward the end,” he added. “And that will be fine too".
He revealed that he is keen to spend more time with his family, and that he would like to “grow vegetables” and travel. “I’ve been all over the world, but I haven’t seen much of it, because we see the airports and the hotel room and the venue and we don’t get out much, you know?”.
