Elton John has signed a deal for a Las Vegas residency, with the performances set to be presented as a hologram version of the singer.

The 79-year-old singer stepped away from live performances and tours in 2023.

A source told The Sun that the hologram residency will feature hologram duets with Dua Lipa and Kiki Dee.

"Elton, Dua and Kiki will be holograms. It's similar to the ABBA Voyage show in London, but far more advanced as the technology has come on so much," the source told The Sun.

"Elton signed a seven-figure deal with Hard Rock. It's a shift away from a traditional residency and is billed as a fully immersive experience. It's going to look phenomenal," they continued.

The iconic musician revealed last month that he finished a new album that is completely different to any of his other albums.

Whilst on stage at the Great Canadian Casino Resort in Toronto, as the recipient of the prestigious Glenn Gould Prize, he revealed the news of his brand new completed album.

He explained to Varitey after the show that his visual impairments forced him to write music in a new way.

“I lost my right eye and my left eye’s not so good, the last 15 months have been challenging for me because I haven’t been able to see anything, watch anything, read anything," he said.

“What my eye has given me is a chance of, at 80 years of age, completely reversing how I write. I’m writing melodies first, and lyrics coming second. I’ve never done that. And I’ve just done it," he continued.

The immersive experience is due to open next summer.
