A brand new spoken word album, Migrants In Time, will see former President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins and artist, Myles O'Reilly join forces once again.
The album, will feature a recorded collection of original poems written by Higgins, which were also underscored by Myles O'Reilly. The album was set against the backdrop of civil liberties from the 1970s and 1989s, exploring global struggles in places like Central America. Africa, and the Middle East, while looking at the profound impact of innocent people across borders, while looking at the gap between those who abuse power and resist it.
In a press release, Michael D Higgins said “No matter how rooted and sedentary our lives, we are all simply migrants in time – curious creative and vulnerable in an interdependent world that is always on the edge of new possibilities yet to be realised”.
The first single on the album, is 'The Prophets Are Weeping', which can be checked out below.
Celebrating this album's launch, Michael D Higgins and Myles O'Reilly have also announced that they will perform live at Leisureland in Galway on November 27, which will feature special guests.
Tickets will go on sale from Thursday, October 15 from €50.
The album itself will also be available in several forms, including a 180gram blue vinyl and CD. Check out the tracklist below.
