A former member of The Pussycat Dolls has taken what many fans see as a pointed swipe at her former bandmates, just as a reunion tour featuring key members of the group has been confirmed.

Carmit Bachar, one of the original line-up, appeared to react on Instagram after it was revealed that Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt are set to reunite for a new world tour — four years after their last comeback attempt dramatically collapsed.

Sharing a clip of a woman singing along to I’m Letting Go Of The Bt* by Nick Hustles, Carmit reposted the lyrics: “F anything that don’t help me grow, fake friends, shiesty hs letting all that b*****t go.”* The video was captioned: “My 2026 anthem.”

While she did not directly reference the group or her former bandmates, the timing of the post has fuelled speculation among fans that it was a thinly veiled dig at the reunion announcement.

The upcoming tour will see Nicole Scherzinger, the group’s former lead singer, joined by Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt. The trio were central figures during the band’s commercial peak in the mid-2000s and were also part of the ill-fated 2019 reunion attempt.

Not returning are Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton, and Kaya Jones. Several of the former members have publicly criticised aspects of the group in recent years, particularly around pay structures, creative control and branding.

The tension dates back to the group’s previous reunion plans. In 2019, The Pussycat Dolls announced a major comeback tour across the UK and Ireland, marking their first performances together in over a decade. However, the tour was ultimately cancelled in 2022 amid contractual disputes and legal issues, with public disagreements between members surfacing soon after. At the time, statements pointed to “evolving circumstances,” though reports suggested financial and management disagreements played a role.

Formed in the early 2000s by choreographer Robin Antin, The Pussycat Dolls began as a burlesque troupe in Los Angeles before evolving into a global pop act. Their 2005 debut album PCD spawned massive hits including Don’t Cha, Buttons, Stickwitu and When I Grow Up, catapulting them to international fame.

However, from early on, there were persistent allegations that the group functioned more as a backing ensemble for Scherzinger rather than a fully equal girl group. Several former members later claimed they received a smaller share of profits and limited vocal opportunities, with some describing themselves as “employees” rather than partners.

Melody Thornton previously spoke publicly about feeling sidelined creatively, while Jessica Sutta and Kaya Jones have also made allegations over the years about how the group was structured. Scherzinger has consistently denied wrongdoing, maintaining that the group’s set-up was widely understood within the industry.

Despite the internal friction, the Dolls remain one of the best-selling girl groups of the 2000s, with millions of records sold worldwide and a string of chart-topping singles. Their blend of dance-pop, R&B and high-energy choreography defined a particular era of MTV-driven pop culture.

For now, the spotlight is back on Scherzinger, Roberts and Wyatt as they prepare to bring the Dolls’ catalogue back to arenas worldwide — but the group’s complicated history continues to cast a long shadow over any comeback narrative.
