Hundreds of fans attended a music session in Dublin city in support of Kneecap star Liam Óg ÓhAnnaidh following his recent court appearance in London.
The rapper, who performs under the name Mo Chara, has been accused of displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah at a gig last November. He was greeted by a myriad of Kneecap supporters as he arrived at Westminister Magistrate's Court in London this week alongside fellow Kneecap rappers JJ ÓDochartaigh and Naoise Ó Cairealláin.
The decision to charge Mr Ó hAnnaidh by the British Government has been heavily criticised by pro Palestine supporters, who said that they should focus on the Israeli government's actions against the Palestinian people.
At this solidarity gig in Dublin, Kneecap flags and logos hung from the windows in Connolly Books, which refers to itself as Ireland's oldest bookshop, in support of Kneecap and the people of Palestine. This show saw several artists play traditional Irish music in support of the Belfast rap trio.
At the hearing itself, Ó hAnnaidh's legal team called for the case to be thrown out, due to an alleged technical error in the way the charge against him was brought.
It was confirmed that the the case was adjourned until September 26, when the judge will rule on whether he has the jurisdiction to try this case.
