The 40 year old singer, who is recently focussed on making Christmas music expressed that she felt "disconnected" from her job and the music industry. However, she states that since becoming a mother she can sing "from that place of being open again".
Lewis told the Daily Star, "I started getting into the studio last year. I have been working on music and figuring out what I want to say. What do I want to sing about? How do I want to be intentional and not add to the noise, but, hopefully, just bring something authentic and very me?"
"I had a little girl a few years ago. So that has opened my world up in a lot of ways. I'm singing from that place of being open again," she added.
She also added that since she has turned 40 and become a mother, she is writing from a "different perspective now."
In other news, Lewis' track 'One More Sleep' has been named the most streamed British Christmas song of the 21st century.
The track was released in 2013 and has gathered 190 million streams across the UK.
Coldplays Christmas tune, 'Christmas Lights' was named the runner up as it secured second place in the round up according to the Independent.
Lewis is currently performing her 'A Starry Night' shows at Voltaire at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her shows run until January 2026. Lewis revealed that she wanted to do the Vegas residency as it is "so intimate."
"It has been 20 years since I stepped on the scene with X Factor, and a lot has happened in my life. This is not just a show. This is me sharing what I’ve been through, how I started, why I wrote certain songs, and why I performed certain songs. It’s the culmination of my life’s work in music," the singer explained to The Sun.
