Mariah Carey has previewed her new album with the release of her new single, 'Type Dangerous'.
The single, which you can check out below, is the singer's first track in several years, and has been officially released via streaming platforms, and includes a lyric video. It is a track which features samples from Eric B and Rakim 1987 classic, 'Eric B Is President', and sees Carey singing about attracting men who are not what they seem.
Carey sings: “Motorcycle man had a yen for me / Liked to rush through the tunnel at a breakneck speed / Computer boy toy, he was fun for a while / ‘Til I caught him on the web hacking other girls’ files / You know the guy say he worked construction / Turns out he was movin’ them pounds through customs".
“I’ve been locked up in the studio for quite some time working my behind off on new music, and I’m thrilled for the unveiling of it to my fans, starting with ‘Type Dangerous’!", Carey said in a press release.
'Type Dangerous' is Mariah Carey's first single since 'In The Mix' in 2019, and is the first teaser from her as yet untitled studio album.

Back in March, Mariah Carey won a lawsuit over her famous festive hit All I Want For Christmas Is You.
This happened after country singer Andy Stone aka Vince Vance, filed a lawsuit against Carey. He claimed that Carey's hit, which arrived in 1994, had infringed the copyright of his original 1989 track of the same name. Stone also alleged that his track received "extensive airplay", a year prior to Carey's hit being released.
However, it was ruled in favour of Carey, after a judge ruled that Stone's legal team had not "met their burden of showing" that the two songs were "substantially similar".
