Robbie Williams has admitted that he still lives in fear of his career ending at "any moment", despite his long standing global success.

The former Take That singer, who has opened up about his past struggles with anxiety and stage fright, has said that the fear of it slipping away never leaves him, admitting that the pressure to perform continues to weigh heavily on him, especially given the millions of records he has sold.

Williams also revealed that the unpredictability of live television and arena shows means he can never fully relax.

"I have autocue at the gigs and it is like having a safety wire, I know it but I have had moments on live TV where I have completely forgotten the words and completely forgotten the melody and that's when you realise that the colour of adrenaline is brown!", the singer said in a recent interview.

He continued: "This is a type rope walk act.... We could fall. "I could cause an international incident at any moment, I could end my career at any moment! And that is the anxiety that I am walking with and talking with at all times".

Williams also shared that he suffers from major imposter syndrome.

"It's absolutely insane, my whole career exists on audacity and very little else", he said. "You know there is some shelves left unstacked at an Asda at Stoke-On-Trent because I am not there and that would be my rightful place".

Previously, Robbie Williams had spoken candidly about his battles with depression, as well as his issues with alcohol and drug abuse, saying that he feels "remarkable" having come out the other side of these problems.

"We’re getting quite knowledgeable with mental health, where to go and what to do", he said in 2024. “Just know this. It took me nearly a couple of decades to fight through it, and now I’m at the other end, and it’s beautiful".

“And there is beauty at the end of that struggle, and it feels remarkable".

Last month, Robbie Williams made chart history by overtaking the Beatles's long standing record of having the most UK Number one albums, following the release of his long awaited record, 'BRITPOP'. More on this story here.
