The president of a Spanish football club has submitted an open letter to Madonna, asking her to help them find the team's shirt that she was pictured performing in more than 30 years ago.
This letter was written by Marian Mourino Terrazo,, who describes the shirt as a "symbol of part of the emotional heritage of our club and what it stands for", and calling for Madonna "for your help with something that means a great deal to us".
According to Terarazo, Madonna wore the shirt as she performed at the club's stadium, Balaidos on 29 July, 1990. The shirt was sky-blue coloured.
"This beloved memory still lives among our supporters," she added. "The photograph of you wearing our shirt has become a myth and is now part of our history which is written often beyond the limits of the football pitch".
She added that this "iconic image has grown to shine differently as years have passed… That is why we hold on to the hope of finding the garment you once wore".
She went on to say that before Celta Vigo face Real Madrid at the Balaidos stadium on Friday evening, the club "would like to send you a gesture of affection", and asked if she has any idea what happened to the shirt.
Concluding the letter, Terrazo asked Madonna: "If you know where it may be, or if you would like to join us in the search to retrieve it, please contact us via private message (DM). With admiration, Marian Mourino Terrazo".

It would appear that Madonna has a fondness for football.
Last month, the singer was spotted supporting her daughters Stella and Estere as they played a Tottenham under 14s academy match. She later shared images of her twins playing football, with the caption: “I will pay G*D for some sunshine!”.
She added: “Go Stella and Estere, Hotspurs win!!! 5-0".

Last year, Madonna shared details about suffering a life threatening health crisis in June 2023, which left her unconscious for four days. She spoke about suffering a sudden bacterial infection which led to sepsis and being placed into an induced coma on a ventilator.
She said: “One minute I was alive and dancing around, and the next minute, I was in the ICU of a hospital". More on this story here.
