The Pointer Sisters' have seen a huge upturn in streaming figures after their track, 'Hot Together' was used in the new GTA 6 trailer.

The game is to be released on 26 May next year, after Rockstar Games confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be delayed. To make up for this, developers for the game shared an "unprecedented" amount of information for fans, including details regarding map, story and characters.

The clip itself which you can check out below, shows new protagonist Jason Duvall driving through town, collecting payments for his boss, Brian, while various radio stations also receive a lot of attention in this video, including snippets of 'Child Support' by Zenglen & 5 Etwal, Wang Chung's 'Everybody Have Fun Tonight', and 'Talkin To Myself Again' by Tammy Wynette.

When Jason is reunited with Lucia, the trailer finishes out with The Pointer Sisters' 'Hot Together'.

Following the release of this trailer, it emerged that 'Hot Together' saw a remarkable 182,000%  increase in global streams on Spotify, "in comparison with the same period one week prior", according to the streaming service.

Spotify's Sulianna Ong said this in a statement: “Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way".
