The Irish band plans to mark this milestone with a new album, a series of special shows and some other surprises. This news comes more than two decades after their first world tour in 2001. The band split up in 2012, however they reunited in 2018 and are currenlty active, with plans to celebrate their years of performing together with their fans.
The band took to their offical Instagram and released a statement: "We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 25th Anniversary celebrations… On the 9th of February 2001 we kicked off our first ever world tour at the Newcastle Arena. Who would have thought we would still be here 25 years later? We have so many exciting plans to share with you very soon which will include new music, an album, special shows and many many more surprises along the way".

The boy band made up of Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, and Mark Feehily have had a large amount of success over the past 25 years. They also hold the record for the most number one albums by an Irish act, with popular singles such as "Flying Without Wings", "Uptown Girl", and "You Raise Me Up".
Despite the good news of special shows and a new album, fans were dissapointed to hear that Feehily will not be joining his bandmates for the celebrations. He will not be taking part in their anniversary events due to ongoing health issues.
The band shared on Instagram, "Sadly, Mark will be unable to join the celebrations. We hope he can join us back on stage when he is ready and able. He sends his love and positivity to you all as always."
Feehily took a step back from Westlife in February 2024 due to his ongoing health issues. He reportedly underwent surgery for a hernia and was being treated for sepsis during the pandemic, which caused his to miss multiple live performances.
