WHAM! and Last Christmas are back to seek the final Number one of 2025.

Having lost out to Kylie Minogue and XMAS for the chart award last week, WHAM! are seeking vengeance by grabbing the last number one of 2025.

As things stand, XMAS which was last week's number one, is now in second spot at the Official 2025 Christmas Number One. Last week saw Kylie Minogue break all kinds of records, including being the first female solo artist to land number one singles across four different decades.

The top five also includes The Pogues and Kirsty McColl's Fairytale Of New York, currently standing in fifth place.

As for the rest of the top 10, Elton John's Step Into Christmas rose three places to sixth place, seventh place goes to Shakin Steven's Merry Christmas Everyone, which also celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Elsewhere, Gwen Stefani's Shake the Snow Globe could jump an impressive 50 places to reach the top 10 for the first time.

Driving Home For Christmas from the late Chris Rea is another strong top 10 candidate, currently residing at number 13, having skyrocketed 17 places in the chart.

This comes following the death of Chris Rea, who died aged 74 following a short illness. His career spanned several decades, releasing 25 studio albums. His death was confirmed by a family spokesperson, who said that the singer died peacefully surrounded by his wife and their two children.

Prior to this, Chris Rea had revealed that he wrote his famous Christmas hit, whilst banned from driving himself.

In a previous interview with The Daily Express, Rea said:  “It’s funny, because I’d just been banned from driving when I wrote it. But I was feeling good at the time too, and people say they can hear that infectious feel-good mood when they hear it".

"I still sing it at other drivers when I’m stuck on the motorway".
