In a recent Instagram post, Zach Bryan has shared that he is now two months sober. The 29 year old singer shared the news that he has decided to quit drinking alcohol after a 20 day solo motor cycle trip across North America. "At the end of this ride, I was sitting in a parking lot in Seattle, Washington thinking 'I really need some f------ help," the post read.
"Being in the military for a decade and then thrown into a spotlight that I hadn't fully comprehended the scope of, had some subconscious effects on me as a person, I was not content but I also feared showing weakness because that's not who I am or how I was raised," he continued.
Bryan shared that he used alcohol as a way to cope with his mental health, he said that he was "always reaching for alcohol, not for the taste, but because there was a consistent black hole in me that always needed its void filled."
The singer explained that he was feeling severe anxiety due to rumours being made up about him and being "doxxed on the internet." "The anxiety I felt was paralyzing and I thought since I was successful, had the money I always longed for, and had great friends, that I could tough anything out," Bryan said.
Bryan has stated that he is now two months sober and that he is feeling great. "I feel great. I feel content. I feel whole, there's nothing I need to get me by anymore," he shared.
