80,000 people are expected to attend the opening day of this year's National Ploughing Championship.
The event is set to be held in Screggan in Co Offaly, making it their fifth time hosting.
The 95th renewal is expected to see an increase in machinery exhibitors and international competitors.
Ploughing will be at the heart of the 700-acre event, with more than 350 competitors taking part across 34 different classes.
The week will also feature several major livestock competitions, including the All-Ireland Aberdeen Angus Finals today, followed tomorrow by the National Calf Finals and the Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition.
Assistant Managing Director of the National Ploughing Championships Anna Marie McHugh told RTE that across the next three days they expect between 250,000 and 270,000 to attend the event.
"There's something new in every sector every year, and something for everyone. The young people want TikTok and all the fancy cookies and all the different things and the O'Neill's and all that too, so everyone has a thing that they're into," McHugh said.
Mixed weather conditions are expected for the week ahead.
Today marks the first day of the championship, and the weather will hold up pretty nice for those attending. It is expected to be a bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers across Leinster, Met Éireann has forecasted.
Wednesday will be cloudy, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards across the country before clearing to scattered showers. Lowest temperatures will range from 9 to 12 degrees.
Thursday will bring sunny spells and scattered showers, which may become blustery at times. It will turn cloudier later, with some longer spells of rain, particularly in the north. Highest temperatures will range from 14 to 17 degrees.
Friday will start off dry, with some possible sunny spells. However, rain will develop as the day progresses, with highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.
From Tuesday September 15 and Thursday September 17, Gardai have announced a number of road closures around the areas approaching Tullamore ahead of the event.
They have announced a partial closure of the N52 between Tullamore and Birr, and local roads to Mucklagh village and event site at Screggan in Tullamore.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: "Gardaí are urging road users not attending the National Ploughing Championships to avoid the N52 between Tullamore and Birr. Road users are also asked to avoid all approach roads to Mucklagh village, and the event site at Screggan, from Tuesday, 15th September at 6am until Thursday, 17th of September at 8pm."
"For those attending the National Ploughing Championships, please view in advance the Traffic Management Plan on the An Garda Síochána and National Ploughing Association websites for the correct route to take, depending on where you are travelling from."
