Aer Lingus has announced a new direct service between Dublin and Barbados for spring 2026, offering Irish travellers a convenient, non-stop connection to the Caribbean for a limited time. The seasonal route will operate from 31 March to 31 May 2026, with flights running three times a week.
The Dublin–Bridgetown service will depart on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and will be operated using Aer Lingus’ newest aircraft, the Airbus A321XLR. Fares start from €229 each way, including taxes, fees and carrier charges, making the tropical getaway more accessible for holidaymakers seeking some early summer sunshine.
Barbados is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, with more than 50 white-sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of experiences, from swimming with sea turtles and sampling local rums to exploring the island’s vibrant culinary scene. Food lovers can savour traditional Bajan dishes such as Flying Fish and Cou-Cou, while wildlife enthusiasts may catch a glimpse of the island’s famous Barbados Green Monkeys in their natural habitat.
The island’s capital, Bridgetown, offers a rich blend of history and culture. The UNESCO-listed Bridgetown Historic Garrison reflects centuries of heritage, and visitors can stroll along Swan Street to experience bustling shops, colourful market stalls and a lively local atmosphere.
Passengers travelling on the new route will fly aboard the A321XLR, described as the widest single-aisle aircraft cabin currently available. The aircraft features 184 seats in a two-class configuration, including 16 full-flat Business Class seats and 168 Economy seats. Customers can expect larger overhead storage bins, wider seats, modern in-flight entertainment systems and enhanced acoustic design for a quieter cabin experience.
Aer Lingus noted that the temporary service follows the planned cessation of its transatlantic flights from Manchester from 31 March 2026. The Dublin–Barbados route is being introduced primarily to accommodate passengers who had been scheduled to travel from Manchester.
