The draw for the quarter finals of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was made this morning, and it has thrown up some huge ties.
All four matches will be played at Croke Park this coming weekend, June 28th/29th, with exact days and times to be confirmed this afternoon.
Here's who'll play who in the last eight:
Armagh v Kerry
Reigning All-Ireland Champions Armagh will take on 38-time winners Kerry, in what's a repeat of the 2002 All-Ireland Final, which the Orchard County won by a single point. Kerry will come into the clash on the back of a win over Cavan last weekend. Armagh and their management team will be working this week on how to keep Kerry's David Clifford quiet after he kicked an incredible 3-7 in their premlinary quarter final victory.
Dublin v Tyrone
Dublin's prize for their three point win over Cork last weekend is a quarter-final tie against Tyrone, who in topping Group 1, secured thier place in the last eight. Both sides won two and lost one in the group stage, with any clash between these two sides throwing up a classic. They've met in two All Ireland Finals over the years - in 1995 and 2018 - with Dublin winning both, but the most iconic moment of their meetings was undoubtedly Owen Mulligan's wonder-goal for Tyrone in the 2005 Quarter Final.
Meath v Galway
Galway have been the nearly team over the past few seasons, reaching the All-Ireland Final in both 2022 and 2024, ultimately losing on both occasions. However, Padraig Joyce's side will hope to continue their trend of reaching the latter stages with a win over Leinster finalists Meath. The Royal County have already beaten Dublin, Kerry and Cork this year, and given their current form, will be hopeful of reaching the final four, despite their meeting with Galway being their first time in the knockout stages since 2010.
Monaghan v Donegal
The fourth Quarter Final clash is the all-Ulster meeting of Monaghan and Donegal, who played out a thriller in the Ulster Championship in April. Donegal claimed the spoils by two points that day, but Monaghan bounced back with three wins from three in the group stage. Donegal meanwhile, under the stewardship of manager Jim McGuinness, will be action for the third week in a row, and ninth championship game in 13 weeks.
