Fancy a break away from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life? The Manor at the five-star Mount Juliet Estate has reopened its doors, so now is the perfect time to plan an escape to the countryside.

It's tricky to marry historic significance with contemporary luxury, but it's been tastefully done in this meticulous restoration, after an €8million investment.

With a unique perspective, the restoration team has approached the house as a personality, envisioning The Manor as an elegant host, welcoming friends through its doors.

Period details and elegant furnishings are seen in combination with discreet modern comforts. It's a suite for those who seek character and complete indulgence.

Elsewhere, the Lady Juliana Suite (From €1,700 per night B&B) is the crown jewel of the Manor for a reason.

It's spacious and distinguished, and offers sweeping views, a fabulous living area, and beautiful detailing. It's described as 'an immersive expression of heritage luxury'. Staying here isn't a visit, it's an experience.

Speaking on the restoration, owner Catherine English said: 'Houses have personalities, particularly historic houses like The Manor at Mount Juliet Estate, which dates back to 1757.

‘The walls of The Manor have absorbed so much of the life lived within and around them in a way that you sense a happy history the moment you walk in.

'When we originally tendered, we had seen the house as a gracious elderly lady, the edges of the house a little worn over time, considering she’s well into her third century.

‘When Aisling and the team at O’Donnell O’Neill came on board, they presented a vision of The Manor as a gracious and stylish hostess who lived to throw sumptuous and outrageously glamorous parties.

‘In the new interiors, they’ve managed to deliver something utterly unlike anything else in Ireland’s five-star hotel set and which is original, elegant and fun with all the modern comforts and facilities an international traveller would expect.'

Catherine added: ‘The last family to call the Manor their home threw legendary parties and guests never left without their fuel tanks refilled and a brace of pheasant or a salmon in their boot.

'We want to reflect this hospitality, character and warmth in the designs so that the house feels sophisticated, original and stylish yet comfortable and inviting.'
